| A little after midnight on 27 Dec 2006, we were dispatched to a reported fire in a mobile home. W503 with DPO Kim, Officer D. Glinski, FF Grenier and FF Talley arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from Side "A" in the A/B quadrant with smoke coming from the eaves on Side "B" and "C". The mobile home had an attached structure which was the portion that was on fire. W503's crew met up with T503's crew (LT Gudiatis, FF C. Johnson, FF T. Johnson) to make an interior attack on the fire. Between the two crews, they were able to quickly knock down the fire and contain the fire to the extension piece of the mobile home. However, there was extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the mobile home. W517 arrived on scene and completed the split lay to the hydrant as their crew split up with two members providing immediate assistance to W503's crew at the house and the other 3 standing by with the 2nd attack line in case it was needed. The homeowners advised BC507F (Asst. Chief Hoffman) that they were asleep when the smoke detectors went off alerting them of the fire in the front section of the home. They credited the smoke detectors to helping saving their lives. These smoke detectors had been installed by DTVFD members due to another fire recently in the neighborhood.( See archives, July 26,2005)
