On Saturday November 4th units from over 15 agencies met at Leesylvania State Park for a mass casualty incident on the water. Command 503 with Chief Young, Larry Wemyss and Steve participated in the drill and gained valuable knowledge about what the other agencies had available if needed. As the simulation was ending, Boat 502? advised that they were on the scene of an actual boating accident that was not part of the drill. They reported initially one fatality and possible one more victim in the water. Everyone immediately went to work performing as they had earlier in the day. Multiple boats including the Coast Guard, Quantico and Alexandria assisted in the search as well as multiple helicopters. It was later determined that the victim was the only occupant of the vessel.
