4-18-06 Just before midnight Wagon 503 and Amb. 503 were dispatched to Fuller Heights Road and Fuller Road for the Car in the ditch. Upon arrival Wagon 503 marked up confirming single vehicle MVA in the ditch with one patient outside of vehicle. The crew from the Wagon (Gudaitis, Bauer, Johnson, and Fricke) started to check hazards and begin patient care with the Amb. Heavy damage to the vehicle to include the steering wheel was noted. During the assessment penetrating trauma was found in the right eye and the patient was starting to get combative indicating possible head injury. The patient went unconscious shortly after being back boarded bringing a medic and Aircare to assist. Assistant Chief 503(Hoffman) had the command. Mutual aid from Quantico Fire Department Engine 31 handled the LZ while the Wagon crew assisted with patient care. Units cleared around 12:30 hours.
