| On Saturday, Engine 523, Engine 503B, and Battalion 507 were dispatched for a house fire in the Southbridge community off of Medford Drive. Neighbors called 9-1-1 when they saw flames coming from the rear of a house, possibly on the deck.
Upon arrival E523 reported smoke showing on Side C (Rear of house) and put a 1 ¾" line into action on the exterior and deck. E503 arrived a few seconds later and made entry into the house to check for extension and secure food on the stove. Within moments the fire had been extinguished by the initial attack.
As BC507 and E510 arrived, BC507 soon placed all other units in-service with the fire being out. After quick ventilation and inspection of the home, a Fire Marshall was requested and units cleared as they became ready.
After investigation by the FM; the fire was ruled "Undetermined". |
