At 0340 this morning, E503B was dispatched to an over turned vehicle on Interstate I-95 Southbound at the 149 mile marker. E503B arrived on scene to find a Chevrolet pick up truck on its' roof with two patients still inside. One patient had his foot pinned between the dash board and the floor board. The second patient was trapped under the first patient. E503B crew started stabilization of the vehicle, the patients, and mitigated hazards. BC507, R510, E510, M523, A523 arrived on scene within seconds of each other. BC507 had the interstate shut down. R510 did the extrication of the patients with assistance from E510 while E503B stood by with a hose line. While the last patient was removed from the vehicle, another accident occurred just north of our location involving three vehicles with one on the roof. BC507 requested for a helicopter for the first accident and additional resources for the second accident. There were a total of two patients transported to the hospital, one by the helicopter to Fairfax hospital and the second to Stafford Hospital by M531. E503B stayed on scene to give assistance to VSP.
