As high winds moved into the area on Saturday, the VA-MD-DC Metro area became inundated with working fires and major brush fire incidents. Within Prince William, at least 3 major incidents were occurring at the same time. Large brush fires were reported off of Prince William Parkway, Dale Boulevard and Crest Drive. Additionally a large brush fire mid county engulfed at least one structure and damaged another.

While units were on the scene of the Dale Blvd fire, BC 507 reported a column of smoke rising near American Eagle Blvd in Eagles Pointe. He searched the area and investigated on foot the wooded areas between American Eagle Blvd, Crest Drive and Interstate 95. Once into the woods he found a large brush fire that was progressing quickly. He requested 2 Engines and Engine 12 and 23 were dispatched. Command was established and additional resources were requested. Brush 518, Engine 419 and Engine 503 were dispatchedas well. Engine 503 was in Stafford County at the time and had a delayed response back.

As units trudged in on foot, a Command Post was established on Donald Curtis Drive and units staged apparatus there and started their attack and Fire Line operations. A Virginia Forestry Officer arrived soon after and worked with the crews to assess the area. By this time it was estimated that the fire had consumed approximately 25 to 30 acres.

An ALL CALL was issued for DTVFD personnel and soon personnel reported to the stations to retrieve their gear and then to the command post where they were accounted for and put to work.

Units worked on the scene until approximately 2200 hours and checked the scene throughout the rest of the evening.

After clearing this call, DTVFD units also responded to an additional brush fire at NOVA Community College along with Engine 510,Brush 533, and Battalion 507.

Later in the evening and early morning units also repsonded to an auto accident on the Interstate and multiple medical assist calls.
