On Friday around midnight, an off-duty FF/EMT from Dale City came upon an accident and called 9-1-1. Engine 523, Ambulance 523, and Medic 523, were dispatched to an overturned vehicle with possible entrapment on Blackburn Road.

E523 arrived on scene with PWC Police to report a blue Acura was overturned and into the trees. Rescue Engine 510 arrived a short time later with the Ambulance 523.

After investigating, police identified the occupants outside of the vehicle and the Ambulance crew began checking for injuries. One BLS patient was transported to a nearby hospital and the driver was reportedly taken into police custody. Both were very lucky due to the vehicle landing on a tree limb that penetrated the windshield and exited via the driver side door.

RE510 and M523 went in service soon after the patient count and dispositions were identified.

After hazards were secured, E523 remained on the scene to block traffic and provide lighting for PD and the tow company due to the location of the vehicle.
