At approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 3, 2010, units were dispatched to a reported Townhouse fire in 16,000 block of Geddy Ct. Engine 523 was first on the scene with Assistant Chief 503 and gave an initial report of nothing showing. Truck 503 and Engine 503B were next in to assist Engine 523's crew.

Upon entry into the residence, personnel found smoke conditions on the second floor coming from the attic. Other units from Dale City and Occoquan Woodbridge Lorton fire departments also arrived on the scene to complete the compliment.

After a thorough investigation, units reported to Geddy Command that a furnace had caught fire but had not caused any surrounding damage. Crews finished checking for extension and ventilated the home.

The Red Cross was called to assist an adult and four children since the heating unit to the home was no longer useable. The cause of the damages was deemed accidental/mechanical in nature.

Units: E523, E503B, E510, E512B, E517, T503, TW512, R510, M503, A510, AC503, BC507F
