| On November 21, 2010, Recruit Class 10-1 finished up their 4 months of training as they continue to transition from Recruits to Firefighters.
Recruit class 10-1 overcame the Maze at station 12 (OWL), flashover simulators, vehicle fires, ladders, and firefighter drags while growing as a class. These recruits have supported each other in any way they could so that all could learn and succeed.
Recruits were given different positions and given multiple scenarios. With the assistance of the instructors they performed fire attacks, searches, ventilation, RIT assignments, and back-up line assignments.
They also extinguished vehicle fires and performed CPR on simulated "downed civilians." They spent the whole day improving their techniques and rotating from assignment to assignment. At the end of the day, exhausted and ready to go back to their own stations, the crews came together one last time and were given last bits of advice from the instructors and told the importance of continuing their education.
Congratulations to Recruit Class 10-1 on completing the final stages of the firefighter course!
