Auto accident ends with fly out

At 0430am Engine 523, Medic 523, and Ambulance 523 were dispatched to a reported auto accident on Dumfries road near the 152 I95 exit. Upon arrival Engine 523 found a single vehicle accident on the exit ramp from I95 to 234 north. Engine 523 shut down the exit ramp while Ambulance and Medic 523 assessed one patient. After the assessment a helicopter was requested for the injured occupant.

Engine 503B handled the landing zone for helicopter MedStar at the commuter lot on route 234. Medic 523 with the assistance of Engine 523 and Ambulance 523 transported the patient to the landing zone and the patient was transported to a local trauma center. Both fire and rescue companies worked well to secure the scene and stabilize the patient, a job well done by everyone on scene.
