| At approximately 21:11 hours , a first alarm assignment was dispatched to 15471 Golf Club Drive. The initial information said there was a fire on the deck. Wagon 517 ( Sgt. Korteum, D/O Trax, FF Brothers and FF Trainee Trax) arrived and reported heavy fire to the Charlie Side of the structure and they began to attack the fire through Side A on the first floor. Battalion 507( Martin) requested two additional engines upon his arrival and he set up command. Assistant Chief 503( Hoffman) assumed Operations and requested the Second Alarm. The evacuation tones were hit as fire consumed the roof and entire rear of the house. 1 3/4 Lines were then stretched between the houses on both sides to get a better knockdown of the fire and to protect the exposures. Once this was accomplished these lines were shut down and Wagon 512's crew was ordered to pull a 2 1/2 to Side A and this was used to hit the rest of the fire. Arriving crews from Engine 520 assumed RIT on Side A. Crews were rotated in to complete other tasks as needed and the Second Alarm assignment was put back into service. Units remained on the scene assisting the Fire Marshalls Office until approximately 1 AM.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries
(The Prince William County Fire Marshal's Office was called in to investigate and The American Red Cross assisted the displaced family) |
