Recently, DTVFD (Crew 2), has developed a trend for catching a working fire every weekend shift for the past three. The crew started the weekend off with a quiet Saturday. As time went on E503B's crew realized it wasn't going to be an ordinary weekend.

The calls began to come in around 1800. E503B was starting to get busy answering a few EMS calls followed by an auto accident on Interstate 95. PSCC reported a car into a tractor trailer and as E503B arrived on scene, they found no entrapment, and determined accident was property damage only. Clearing the calls finally around 0130 the engine headed back to hit the rack.

Tones then dropped at 0420 for a reported townhouse fire off of Powells Creek Blvd. The homeowner was advising that smoke was everywhere and the fire was in the garage. BC507F arrived on scene to find an end of the row townhouse with visible smoke from the garage.

E503B's crew arrived on scene and entered the house through the front door with an 1 ¾" attack line to find moderate smoke conditions and confirmed a working fire in the garage. E503B's officer and firefighter entered the garage and were met with heavy smoke conditions. After finding a lawnmower on fire in the garage, E503B made a quick knock on the fire, while TW512's crew opened the garage door and removed the lawnmower.

The fire was extinguished with no extension into the house. E503B cleared the call at 0620 and returned to quarters to get ready for the busy Sunday to come.

On Sunday, E503B continued to answer a few more sickness calls and auto accidents. One call included a downed tree into a house with no injuries but significant damage to the home. This was followed by a pedestrian struck at Panther Pride Drive and U.S. Route 1. Due to the mechanism of injury M503 requested a helicopter. E503B handled the LZ at Graham Park Middle School;. Helicopter Life Evac-2 responded to the LZ.

After a long and event filled weekend, E503B's crew finally sat down for dinner around 7:00 PM and was able to get a good nights rest with no interruptions into Monday morning.
