| At approximately 6:10 a.m. Engine 503 was dispatched for a vehicle fire. E503 arrived on scene with Battalion Chief 507F to find a SUV with the engine compartment well involved with another vehicle exposure to the right of the vehicle. While E503's driver connected to a hydrant with the front intake, a crew of two (2) pulled the front jump-line and flaked it out to the vehicle location.
Once the crew was ready and signaled the driver, the line was charged. As the crew proceeded to extinguish the fire and protect the exposure; E503's officer gained entry to the vehicle to check for possible victims. Once the passenger compartment was cleared the hood was accessed to put a final knockdown on the fire and hot spots.
BC507F then cleared the scene. After speaking with the owner of the vehicle, it was determined that the fire was mechanical/electrical and no need for the Fire Marshall.
E503 cleared the scene at 6:57 a.m. |
