At approximately 11:00 PM, Engine 503 and Battalion 507 were dispatched to a house fire in the 18000 block of Cabin Road. BC507 marked on the scene with smoke showing from the front of the structure and a light haze in the area. Prior to E503's arrival, BC507 did a quick walk around and noticed fire showing through the roof on side charlie.
E503 marked on-scene and pulled a 300' (1 3/4") hand line and advanced through side A. Once on the second floor E503 confirmed a small fire in the kitchen and began hooking the ceiling to access the fire which had spread in behind the wall and cabinetry into the attic. T531 arrived and as its personnel assisted E503B's crew with the extension in the kitchen. Once on the scene the crew from Tower 512 also worked the attic space.
Engine 510 arrived and provided water supply from the hydrant at Cabin/Candice Rd to E503. E510's crew pulled the back-up line and brought it to the interior to assist T531 with the kitchen operations. E512 arrived soon after and staged for RIT operations. All other units were held with manpower nearby.
The cause of the fire was presumed accidental pending the final results of the Fire Marshall's investigation. One family was displaced and received assistance from The Red-Cross.
