After clearing a previous auto accident, Engine 503B was dispatched to an auto accident around 6:30 PM with reports of fire and entrapment on the Interstate at mile marker 152 southbound in the HOV lanes. E503B arrived on the scene with the fire already out and closed all lanes for safety reasons. Due to finding multiple vehicles involved and one unconscious patient trapped in a vehicle additional resources were requested.

E503B (Sgt. Frye, Kim, Hewlett, Jones, & Lyons) began patient assessment and patient care to multiple victims and deployed an exposure line in the area of a fuel spill. VA State Police and BC507 AC Hoffman arrived on the scene and BC507 established I-95 Command. M512 and R510 arrived soon after and began ALS care and extrication of the unconscious patient.

M512 then requested a helicopter to transport one ALS patient and E503B handled the LZ. A512 & A517 also responded to transport additional BLS patients. HLE-2 landed nearby on the interstate and flew one patient in serious condition to INOVA Fairfax Trauma Center.

Around 7:30 PM, I-95 Command was terminated and all remaining units went in-service after assisting VASP and VDOT.

Units: E503B, BC507, R510, M512, A517, & A512
