At approximately 0158, Engine 517B (Sgt. C. Griffin, J. Luellen, A. Santiago and M. Nordin) along with Ambulance 517B (J. Dalal and A. McNeil) were dispatched to a townhouse fire in the 3500 block of Bath Court in Dale City. Additional information was that the occupants smelled and saw smoke thus evacuating the residence. Prince William PD arrived on scene and notified communications that flames were visible inside the structure.

Engine 510B marked on-scene with fire showing on side D and thick smoke on side C. Engine 510B pulled both 1 3/4" hand lines and advanced through side A to the second floor. TW513 arrived to make a hasty set-up on side A/D as its personnel began their primary search and confirmed the fire in a bedroom on the second floor. Engine 517B arrived as the second engine in as Battalion 505 assumed Bath Court Command.

Engine 517B located an additional water supply on the C/D side to back-up E510B, while E517B's crew pulled the 300' crosslay to side Charlie and threw ladders to the second floor. With a crew of 3, E517B entered side C advancing their hand line and completing a secondary search up to the first floor. R502 vented the roof and Engine 520 assisted with manpower.

A517B set up rehab nearby and treated an occupant with minor injuries. T503 arrived on the scene but was placed in service a short time later.

Once the fire was under control, several crews assisted with salvage and overhaul. Afterwards others began to pickup equipment and setup lights for the Fire Marshall.

At the time of this story; the cause of the fire was deemed suspicious pending the final results of the Fire Marshall's investigation. One family was displaced and received assistance from The Red-Cross and the duty Chaplain.

Engine 517B cleared at 03:24.
