At approximately 1330 tones dropped for a reported structure fire in the 4,000 Block of Avon Dr. The additional call-back reported that the neighbors could see black smoke and flames coming from the roof and that the house was vacant. E517 (OIC-B. Campbell, DPO-Griffin, FF-Hall, RH-N. Frezza) arrived on scene to find light smoke showing from the roof on side A.

BC505 then arrived on scene and set up command. AC503 arrived on scene soon after and took Interior Operations. Since the house was vacant and up for sale, E517's crew forced entry into the structure and gained access to the attic to find light smoke and fire conditions. E517 and AC503 was able to extinguish the fire without extension.

The Fire Marshall was then called to the scene. Upon investigation the cause of the fire appeared to be an attic fan that malfunctioned.

Units cleared at 1504.

Units: E517, E503B, E520, E513, E506B, A503, AC503, BC507F, BC505
