At 2315 Medic 503, Ambulance 512, and Engine 503 (B. Campbell, Griffin, Santiago, and RH McNeill) were dispatched to a shooting in the vicinity of the Bottom Dollar and Exxon station in Dumfries. Once the scene was secure, E503 found two patients with gunshot wounds and began patient care.

BC507 Hoffman also responded and Medic 520 was also dispatched to the scene. Advance Life Support personnel arrived and determined both patients would need to be flown via medivac due to their injuries.

MedStar 2 and LifeEvac 2 were dispatched to the landing zone at the commuter lot on Route 234. Engine 517 (Lt. Reha, Luellen, Moser, and RH Reusch) handled the landing zone with BC507. Both helicopters transported the patients to area trauma centers nearby. All units cleared the scene around midnight.
