On Saturday March 15, 2008 several of our members from the department had made their way to the RFK stadium, but not for a game by any means. DC101's Annual Shamrockfest was taking place that day and we had gathered to volunteer to help pour and serve beer to the hundreds and hundreds of green clad, pre-St. Patty's Day celebrating, concert goers. And all for a great cause, to raise money for the Firefighter's Burned Children Fund. Four and a half hours later, pouring thousands of beers and listening to Irish themed rock bands we were done for the day and had accomplished what we set out to do that day. With the help and generosity of everyone we raised approximately $750.00 for our cause. Thanks to everyone and we'll see you next year!
