TWO CRITICALLY INJURED IN HOUSE FIRE

7/26/05
At approximately 00:01 Hrs, E503 was returning to quarters after a medical local, but before backing into the bay was dispatched for a house fire. Box 0310 was struck for a house fire at 17029 Mine Rd. with a report of possible occupants burned. M553 was the first to arrive on the scene reporting that they had heavy fire, and 2 severe patients. M553 immediately requested an additional medic unit, and an engine for an LZ (E520).

Moments later E503 arrived laying out Approx: 900' of 5" supply line. While Captain 503 (Nanna) established Mine Rd. command. The officer from E503 (Bauer) and Firefighter Fricke stretched a 2-1/2" attack line, and began battling the fire. W517 arrived, and assumed the position of supplying E503. E510 arrived, and placed in service a 1-3/4 attack line on side B. The deck gun from E503 was also placed in service at that time. TW512 arrived, and started opening up the structure, while the rest of the crews attacked the fire.

Water supply was poor due to inadequate hydrants so command requested that a
Tanker (506), and an additional Engine (506) be added to the Box. After long and extensive overhaul units cleared the fire at Approx: 05:00.

Fire Investigators were still on the scene investigating. More information to be posted when available.
