On Sunday February 24, 2008, approximately 1600 hrs, Crew 2 staffing E503B for weekend duty was dispatched for a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Hwy. and River Ridge Blvd. Arriving on the scene with Medic503 they had discovered a adult male patient who was thrown from his bike and had received severe injuries from it. Also to arrive on scene to assist was A512 and T512. BC507 A/C Hoffman had command of the scene and once notified by M503 that the patient needed to be flown due to the mechanism of his injury had called for E517B and AirCare1 for an LZ and a fly out. PWCPD assisted with the LZ and traffic control. Once AC1 landed E517B personnel assisted with the transfer of the patient. Once AC1 had cleared, all remaining units on the ground retrieved equipment and marked up clear when ready.
