Early Sunday morning Engine 503 was alerted to a vehicle fire in a neighboring response area. While en route to the call additional information was given stating that the local PD discovered a van fully involved on a side street. Upon arrival to the scene the van was found to be completely engulfed in flames and power lines above the vehicle began to catch fire. Immediately the front bumper line was deployed to protect the power lines. The vehicle fire was found to be fuel fed and Magnesium was discovered in the steering column and front dash, with the combination of water and an ABC extinguisher the fire was brought under control. An FM was requested and the scene was then turned over to the FM.
