| At approximately 10:30 PM, units were dispatched to a house fire in 19000 block of Wayne Drive in Triangle, VA. DTVFD's Engine, Truck, Brush and Chief all responded with initial reports from neighbors that they could see flames coming from the home.
Upon arrival, Engine 503B confirmed the fire was on the exterior of side C of a one-story single family dwelling. E503B's personnel deployed a 1 3/4 inch line to the rear of the house while T503's crew forced entry through the front door to search for victims.
Additional personnel from Brush 503 joined the engine crew to pull a second hose line as Chief 503 assumed Wayne Drive command.
Additional units from PWCDFR and Quantico arrived and after a negative search of the house T503 went to the roof. Since the fire seemed to have already entered the attic the initial cut indicated that fire was located in a secondary attic space near the rear of the house.
Crews were then directed to the interior where operations were conducted to control the spread and extinguish the fire.
After approximately 20 minutes the fire was reported out and the house was overhauled.
E503 and T503 remained on the scene to assist the Fire Marshall with his investigation. The cause of the fire was undetermined.
No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. |
