January Call Surge in 2010

JANUARY 18 - This past weekend Dumfries-Triangle Volunteers ran over 20 calls over a 45 hour timeframe. The majority of the calls included medical, fire service, and investigative calls.

DTVFD personnel also staffed Truck 514 while O.W.L. members attended an annual department function to install newly elected and returning officers.

Basement Fire in River Ridge

DECEMBER 28 - At approximately 12:30 a.m., Monday morning, tones dropped for a reported house fire in Company 3's first due. While responding, units were told by Prince William County Communications that the homeowner advised that the fire was in the basement.

Early Season Winter Storm

DECEMBER 18 - Between December 18-19, 2009 the National Capital Region came under severe winter storm conditions. Prince William County received reports of 15-20 inches of snow in a 24 hour period crippling transportation and hampering emergency response efforts. During this time freezing conditions overnight covered many neighborhood and side roads with ice.

OCTOBER 30 - No one would have thought sixty-five years ago that the Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department along with the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad would be expanding into yet another station.

It took roughly 43 years until both agencies opened a second station in Montclair, Virginia. Now, some 18 years later we are expanding once again.

Late Release: House Fires in Ashland Neighborhood

SEPTEMBER 08 - On August 28, 2009 Prince William County Career Units were dispatched to a report of a house on fire and units arrived to find a house well involved with exposures on two sides.
