On April 25th Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Dept. held its annual banquet and this years' theme was an Island Luau. A luau (Hawaiian: lū'au) is a traditional Hawaiian party or feast that is usually accompanied by entertainment. Our very own President Virginia Hoskings MC'd the event and the following special awards were presented: 2015 Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department Associate Member of the Year – Alice Lewis 2014-2015 Firefighter of the Quarter recipients:
Operational Officers: Chief - Miles Young Lieutenant - Angel Santiago
President – Virginia Hoskings
President – Mary Frezza In addition a special tribute to Captain Stanley "Pepper" Johnson was unveiled to his family members and others in attendance by DTVFD Member Sang Kim, Chief Miles Young and President Virginia Hoskings. The shadowbox containing memorabilia of Captain Pepper's will hang in the apparatus bay at 3-Fire as an inspiration to all current and future volunteer and career staff to strive to be their best and never stop learning. Please join us in congratulating all of the members who won awards and/or were sworn in and let's not forget those who work tirelessly in the background to keep our fire department running smoothly. Special thanks to OWL - Occoquan Woodbridge Lorton Volunteer Fire Department for covering our first due while we attended our installation. You guys and gals truly ROCK! |
