On Saturday morning, units were dispatched to a house fire off of Cardinal Heights Rd. Upon arrival, Asst. Chief 503 reported smoke showing from the upper floor. Engine 503B was first on the scene and deployed a 1 ¾” attack line through the front.

Truck 531 arrived next to conduct searches and provide ventilation as the attack crew proceeded through the structure. E531 also arrived and brought another attack line through the rear of the house. Medic 503 assisted E531’s driver in establishing a water supply as Battalion 507 took command of the fire operations. Engine 523 arrived to provide RIT assistance if it was needed.

After a quick knockdown of the fire, E503B’s officer and Truck 531’s officer both determined that the fire and dwelling showed signs that were suspicious in nature. All personnel were ordered out of the structure to preserve potential evidence while the Fire Marshall was contacted for assistance.

No injuries were reported however the cause of the fire and specific details remain under investigation. Four adults were displaced and received assistance from the American Red Cross.
