This past weekend Dumfries-Triangle Volunteers ran over 20 calls over a 45 hour timeframe. The majority of the calls included medical, fire service, and investigative calls.
DTVFD personnel also staffed Truck 514 while O.W.L. members attended an annual department function to install newly elected and returning officers.
Calls this weekend also included a structure fire in Dale City for Truck 514 and one in Coles District which had Tanker 503 delivering multiple loads of water off of Orlando Road.
While joining Tankers 506, 507, and 505 with rural water supply runs, Tanker 503 delivered approximately 4,000 gallons of water to assist attack units on the fire ground. Supplying the water to tankers was PWCDFR personnel on Engine 517.
Upon returning to quarters after the fire, Engine 503 personnel ran an overturned vehicle on Mine Road, and stayed busy overnight with plenty of medical assist calls.
During a break in the action on Sunday, members of the engine crew took the opportunity to tour Station 23. This station is estimated to be completed by July 2010 and will combine fire and rescue efforts of Prince William County, Dumfries-Triangle Rescue, and DTVFD.
Current call statistics for January seem to indicate that we will certainly exceed the call volume published for 2009. (See left column)
