Between December 18-19, 2009 the National Capital Region came under severe winter storm conditions. Prince William County received reports of 15-20 inches of snow in a 24 hour period crippling transportation and hampering emergency response efforts. During this time freezing conditions overnight covered many neighborhood and side roads with ice.
Company 3 units responded to a record number of EMS, Fire, and service calls and also assisted many other agencies with access, recovery, and transportation. Units staffed were the Engine, Brush, Utility, Snow plow, and 4x4 SUVs.
Special thanks to all of the members, support, and round-the-clock staffing efforts during this time.
