No one would have thought sixty-five years ago that the Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department along with the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad would be expanding into yet another station.
It took roughly 43 years until both agencies opened a second station in Montclair, Virginia. Now, some 18 years later we are expanding once again.
Station 23 has been in the making for several years. However, in 2010, a couple of years later than anticipated, it too will be realized.
After a recent board of directors' meeting, a few members were given a tour of the progress being made on the new station 23. The photographs below are a sneak peek into progress being made.
We welcome you to join us on November 14, 2009 across from the new station site in the River Oaks Shopping Center (Across from BB&T Bank). Both departments will have a few personnel on-hand from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. as a way to meet you – our neighbors.
