On August 28, 2009 Prince William County Career Units were dispatched to a report of a house on fire and units arrived to find a house well involved with exposures on two sides.
During this incident, multiple Volunteer Units from Dumfries Triangle Volunteer Fire Department were staffed to cover the east end of the County while the units operated at the 2 alarm fire. An additional Engine, Tanker and Battalion Chief were staffed while the Career units operated. As 18:00 hours neared, Engine 503B with a crew of 4 was summoned to the scene by BC 507F Hoffman to relieve the Career Staff from Truck 503. At this point Engines 506, 517 and Truck 503 continued to operate to douse the remaining hot spots and assist PWC Public Works in knocking down the remaining two walls of the house. All units eventually cleared the scene around 21:00 hours. PWC Fire Marshals were still on scene continuing their investigation.
