Membership Requirements

Minimum age 18 years.  As a part of our team, operational members are required to spend at least one night a week and one week end per month for duty.

Application Process

• Submit Membership Application
• Attend "First reading" company meeting
• Background Check 
• Complete Physical
• Drug Test
• Participate in Department Activities (during application process)
• Attend "Second reading" company meeting
• Be voted in by the current membership  
• Complete the following training courses within the first 12 months of membership:
• Firefighter I and prerequisite classes, Hazardous Materials Awareness, CPR

All of the above are provided by the Dumfries Triangle Volunteer Fire Department. Each member will be provided with the necessary equipment and uniforms to complete their training.
